Junior Cricket - Week 3

From The Junior Chairman

Hi All,

Hope you all had a good long weekend and are looking forward to the continued good weather.

Reminder: please can all members make sure they have renewed their membership for 2023; please got www.hayescricket.com and follow the link for membership

With no weather interventions, all games were played this week:

  • The U15s started the week off playing OD CUACO. Batting second, they were chasing 150 – Ronnie Buddin got us off to a strong start with 49 off 45 balls but it wasn’t quite enough as OD CUACO held on for the win.
  • The U13A played Bickley Park on Tuesday; giving up a few wides, they needed 128 for the win. Good batting from Charlie Tory (22) and Fin Atack-Knight (18) saw Hayes score more runs off the bat than Bickley Park but ultimately the wides proved costly as we fell 18 runs short.
  • The U13 Girls played Beckenham; needing 125 to win Aanya Rastogi (31*) and Emily Healey (16) put on 50 for the first wicket but the Beckenham total proved elusive as Hayes were dismissed for 88.
  • The U13B beat Old Wilsonians. A good bowling performance, led by Samuel Taylor (3/10) and Jack Richardson (2/8), saw OW restricted to 100. Hayes got off to a strong start with Parth Shete (25 ret’d) and Thomas Smith (26 ret’d) before Cian McGinley (18) saw us chase down the OW score with 7 overs remaining.
  • The U11A played Chislehurst and West Kent. Despite 3 wickets from Shashwat Naidu, the CWK set a challenging total of 129; Vivaan Mukhyan top scored as Hayes posted 84 in reply.
  • The U11B played Beckenham in a pairs game. A competitive game was won by Beckenham.
  • In a rare Friday outing, the U15 played Bromley Common. Despite a strong performance with the bat from Johnny WiIkie (51 ret’d), Hayes were 20 runs short chasing a 136.
