Women’s 1st XI Captain: TBC
Hayes (Kent) CC is well known for its contribution to women’s cricket. A pioneer of the women’s game in this country since 1995, the club has a long history of producing Cricketers who have gone onto County, Regional and International success.
From Lydia Greenway and Lynsey Askew, to current stars of England and The Hundred, Tash Farrant (England, South East Stars & Oval Invincibles), Phoebe Franklin (South East Stars / Northern Superchargers), Ryana McDonald-Gay (South East Stars/Oval Invincibles) and Alexa Stonehouse (South East Stars/Trent Rockets), to name but a few. The latter also representing England U19’s at the most recent U19 Women’s World Cup in South Africa in 2023, and Ryana now stepping up to England A in 2024.
Alongside developing international talent, we have a thriving women’s and girls’ section, with U9, U11, U13 and U15 teams regularly taking the field in fixtures against local opposition in soft and hard ball games.
The Women’s 1st XI are back-to-back league winners, after being crowned Champions of the newly formed Kent Premier League in 2023 and the Women’s Southern Premier League in 2022, cementing their place as the leading team in Kent. Having built a squad of senior players and young exciting talent that has come up through the ranks of the section, it proves that Hayes continues to lead the way.
We are excited to announce that we have secured coaching for the Women’s team throughout the summer from GRIT Sport. As part of the agreement, we will have weekly sessions led by Alex Blake (of Hayes, Kent and the Oval Invincibles) and Will MacVicar (Hayes and Cornwall CC), with the aim of further developing Cricketers across the section and emulating the success we’ve had over the last two seasons.
We’re always on the look out for more players at all age groups so if you’re a female cricketer looking for regular training across the Winter and Summer, and are wanting to improve your game, then why not join Hayes!
