Emily Barrett – Great Start to Hayes Career
Hayes Women’s XI opening bat, Emily (front row, far left) showed her class last Sunday, scoring 100 against Bexley.
Emily joined Hayes this year, having previously played at Tunbridge Wells – she heralds from a cricketing dynasty as her father was also a successful club cricketer, winning the Kent League with Gravesend.
She is certainly addicted to sport and as well as cricket, she plays hockey for England at u16 level.
Emily follows a long-line of Hayes players who represent Kent and plays for the county at U18. She is on form currently having scored a brace of fifties last week for Kent!
In Sunday’s game she opened with Chelsey Rowson and they put on 111 for first wicket – and helped the team to a thumping 119 run win over our local rivals – Emily’s skills don’t end with the bat – she also donned the gloves to keep wicket!
Manager Richard Sheridan says she is a huge acquisition for the club and really lovely family!
Well Done Emily and we look forward to seeing you progress in your cricketing career!
