Hayes on Tour!

After a successful season at the Home of Cricket, Liam Buttery and Rory Low made their way down under to Melbourne, Australia for a season of cricket in the Aussie sun, as Gareth Severin returned to his native New Zealand and Alex Blake hit Asia!
Unfortunately, Liam spent his first 5 weeks in the land down under watching it rain on a Saturday afternoon without a ball being bowled. Liam did make the most of his free time by getting to a few T20 World Cup games and eventually seeing England lift the trophy with his own eyes.

November 5th Liam finally graced the field for his first game on Australian soil playing for West Newport. Liam has had a few starts with no real big score however, Christmas came a week early when Liam scored 68* opening the batting against Royal Park to collect all 6 pts for the home side. Liam also has 8 catches and 3 stumping so far this season.

Rory playing for East Ballarat had less of a disruption to his first stint in Melbourne, starting off with scores of 68, 75 & 30. A week before Christmas Rory registered his third 50 of the seasons, hopefully 3 figures will soon follow. Rory has picked up 4 catches in his 7 fixtures so far.

Great work lads and enjoy the rest of your Aussie experience!

Off to New Zealand where Gareth, our overseas import, fresh off a successful season with the Hornets racked up a fine 163 off just 139 balls, including 20 fours and 2 sixes in round 4 of the ROBLAWMAX Premier Division for Johnsonville Cricket Club.

Last but not least Player Coach Alex Blake made is way to Nepal for their T20 Competition.

Alex, playing for the Kathmandu Knights, scored 45* off 37 against Far West United however ended up on the losing side.

One day later Alex again rose to the occasion of ensuring another win for his side Kathmandu Knights. It was a good afternoon to bat at Tribhuvan international cricket ground where the batsmen took their time to finally hit some good boundaries. Blake’s 83 off 43 balls is just a part of the batting saga where the Knights set a target of 209 runs for Janakpur Royals.
