The Club was saddened to learn that former player and keen supporter, Fred Mott, passed away on November 21st.
Fred played for Hayes for many years in the 1970’s as did his two sons Dean and Andrew. Dean going on to Beckenham Cricket where he represented The CCC on a couple of tours to Australia and West Indies.
Fred was a medium pacer swing bowler, who on his day could be quite devastating.
He joined Hayes having previously played for Bexleyheath CC.
Fred, and his wife Daphne, were heavily involved in the Club in the 70’s/80’& 90’s.
Daphne was involved in providing teas for some time and they were both fixtures at all the social events!
Fred was an avid supporter of Tottenham Hotspur, his hero being Glen Hoddle.
Fred was a good friend to many and will be missed.
We will bring details of funeral arrangements as soon as they become available.
Our deepest condolences go to Daphne, Andrew and Dean.
