Hayes (Kent) Cricket Club has recently invested in a new Astroturf cricket wicket to be used by all of our members, but more specifically our vibrant junior section.
The previously installed wicket was badly dilapidated and run-down and needed replacing to meet ECB standards and general safety.
Despite being fortunate to receive a grant from the Jack Petchy Foundation for £9,000, this wasn’t quite sufficient to cover the £11,500 cost of replacing the old wicket. Having a modern ECB approved Astroturf wicket provides the Club with much more flexibility to support the coaching of junior cricket and playing of junior matches.
We are hoping that with your support and that from all our members (past and present), local businesses and a few other donations from friends and family we can reach this total!
To kick things off some of our juniors will be taking part in a sponsored run/walk one evening over the next few weeks, with the challenge of completing as many laps as possible in an hour or less.
Please give generously as every pound will help us to get closer to our target. Please click on the Just Giving link.
Thank you, from all at Hayes (Kent) Cricket Club!
